At the 2010 APEC SME Innovation Seminar, took place In Hong Kong, China, Korea suggested the Green Initiative as a way to proceed with the next cycle of the Daegu Initiative citing the importance of the renewable energy sector. Indeed, green growth strategies were emerging as a key solution to twin global tasks -- combating climate change and identifying new growth engines. The Green Initiative is designed to be the second cycle of the highly successful Daegu Initiative. The Green Initiative is planned to run from 2011 to 2012, and will aim to examine green growth policies for SMEs using methodologies, tools and framework similar to the first cycle of the Daegu Initiative. History Oct. 2010 - The 17th APEC SME Ministerial Meeting Endorsed the Green Initiative in a Joint Statement Apr. 2011 - The Green Initiative Framework was Presented at the Green Innovation Conference May 2011 - The 18th APEC SME Ministerial Meeting Approved and Endorsed the Green Initiative Framework                   and Schedule.
