Due to recognition on the importance of sustainable growth and environmental protection, green issues have received more emphasis in public discussion and policy in the last decade.
At the 2010 APEC SME Innovation Seminar, took place In Hong Kong, China, Korea suggested the Green Initiative as a way to proceed with the next cycle of the Daegu Initiative citing the importance of the renewable energy sector. Indeed, green growth strategies were emerging as a key solution to twin global tasks -- combating climate change and identifying new growth engines.
The Green Initiative is designed to be the second cycle of the highly successful Daegu Initiative. The Green Initiative is planned to run from 2011 to 2012, and will aim to examine green growth policies for SMEs using methodologies, tools and framework similar to the first cycle of the Daegu Initiative. |
